10/0516h30>17h16 (0x64) jazzdutJokers - Vincent Peirani, Federico Casagrande, Ziv RavitzdutJokers Vincent Peirani : accordion, accordina Federico Casagrande : guitar Ziv Ravitz : drums After many collaborations in duo (with Émile Parisien, Michel Portal, Michael Wollny, François Salque) or within his quintet, Living Being, Vincent Peirani wanted to embark on another form of orchestration, that of the trio. With the Italian guitarist Federico Casagrande, who has been living in Paris for many years, and Ziv Ravitz, an Israeli drummer who lives in New York, he forms a hybrid trio, guitar, drums, accordion, in which each musician can take the place of another, to become, by turns, a soloist, a rhythmist, a colourist, and so on. This cosmopolitan formula explores all kinds of music: enigmatic, oneiric, electronic, explosive, colourful, even silent. Everything is permitted and left to the free will of each of the three protagonists. Like the Joker - not so much the fictional super-villain of American comic books as the playing card found in most card decks (the Joker can replace any other card and also be the highest trump) - all three of them have an equal and at the same time complementary role, and they are sometimes in opposition, unpredictable... Contradiction then adds to the trio's soundscape, enriching it even further and affirming its originality. Recorded on January 05, 2021 at the Comptoir Général, Paris TV Director, Nathan Benesty Director: Nathan Benesty (2021)
10/0517h16>18h15 (0x64) jazzdutJazz à VienneYom & The Wonder Rabbis. Tune in and hear a number of spellbinding performances from Jazz à Vienne, a well-known Jazz Festival that takes place annually, in France.dutYom & The Wonder Rabbis Yom (clarinet, composition) Léo Jassef (keaboard) Guillaume Magne (guitar) Sylvain Daniel (bass) Mathieu Penot (drums) Yom is a talented and inspired clarinet player from Paris who is always exploring an extensive array of musical styles. From the revived Central European klezmer grafted onto jazz and electro music to rock, Americana and contemporary music, this insatiable all-rounder never loses sight of the edges of his musical vision. His debut album, New King of Klezmer Clarinet, came out in 2008. Here he steps into the shoes of his idol Naftule Brandwein with relish. Yom soon stepped away from ready-to-wear to venture into something more bespoke with Unue, an album featuring Wang Li, Ibrahim Maalouf, Denis Cuniot and Farid D. Nouveau then returned two years later with The Wonder Rabbis. At the same time, a series of collaborations with Wang Li, the Chinese mouth harp player, produced the album Green Apocalypse (2012). The clarinet player now wants to move into universality and spirituality. Yom delves into sacred music for inspiration, a central theme running through his duo with Wang Li (album Green Apocalypse), Le Silence de l'Exode and Prière (2018). Last but not least, last year's Lingua Ignota celebrates the mystical saint Hildegard of Bingen. The Wonder Rabbis getting back together is also a chance for Yom to celebrate a decade on stage. Recorded on July 11, 2019 at Jazz à Vienne TV Director, Mikaël Favard Director: Mickaël Favard (2019)

He was the heart of this ensemble and when in 2008 the trio decided to separate, it was not the end for Menahem Pressler's career - in fact it was the start of a most remarkable and successful path as a soloist and in 2013, the 90-year-old grand seigneur of the piano gave his long overdue debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker. In 'The life I love - the pianist Menahem Pressler', from talks with Pressler over excerpts from one of his Master Classes, to interviews with artists like Daniel Harding, Quatuor Ébène, Leonidas Kavakos or Daniel Hope, we will gain deep insights into the life of this enchantingly "venerable prodigy". Coverage of the great music festival which takes place in Paris every year since 2002.dutÉric Legnini Trio Éric Legnini Trio Eric Legnini (piano) Rocky Gresset (guitar) Thomas Bramerie (double bass) A foot-stomping jazz, touched by soul and by funk. Eric Legnini's recording tryptich, begun in 2006 with Miss Soul (then Big Boogaloo and Trippin'), marking the magnificent first steps of a leader for a pianist with a hyper-sophisticated bop language as early as the middle of the 1990's alongside the saxophonist Stefano Di Battista. Since then, the Belgian musician, settled in Paris has led an eclectic career, multiplied collaborations with vocalists (his friend Huge Coltman amngst others) and regularly puts on his producer's hat. In this 2019 season, Eric Legnini is coming back to the trio, but this time without drums : he will be accompanied by the guitarist Rocky Gresset (a reference on the Gypsy jazz scene) and by Thomas Bramerie (long-time touring partner and very probably the most sought after Parisian bass player) with whom he will present a completely new repertoire. Recorded on September 7, 2019 at the Pierre Boulez Hall - Philharmonie, Jazz à la Villette TV Director, Samuel Thibaut Director: Samuel Thiebaut (2019)
